The minimal automotive head unit is a microcontroller-based digital control, sensor reading, and display system to modernize older vehicles while allowing superior expandability options. It can control music, climate control, and more, while also displaying useful navigation and environmental information.
A few days of work, I now have a new prototype mainboard, along with a host of new and updated code implementing much-needed functionality including vehicle voltage sensing, power-off autosaving, a real-time clock, and display dimming control. Read about the progress!
